Little Mel

My baby sister graduated this week! umm.. wow!

As she was graduating I was having some mental flashbacks, I would like to share one of them... She might hate more for it. (sorry mel)

When I was 14 we moved to Murray from South Jordan. Mel was in 5th grade, it was really hard for us. We both felt like we had just found our place in South Jordan, we had finally made some good friends who we thought were going to be with us til the end aka graduation day. This unfortunately was not the case!

Our home in South Jordan was up for sale for about 3 years before it finally sold. Mel and I did everything we could to try to convince our parents to let us stay. We asked to live with friends, we even tore down the for sale signs a couple times (sorry mom)

When we finally moved to Murray we were so scared to start school where we knew NO ONE! Mel started at her new school before I did. I remember helping her get ready for her first day, fighting back tears she looked in the mirror and said, "Here we go." I couldn't help but just hold her and cry.

As she graduated yesterday I couldn't help but feel sick inside thinking she will be starting at a new school in a different state in the Fall and I won't be there to help her get ready on the first day of school :(
She is so brave and amazing. I am so proud of this girl.

I could't have asked God to bless me with anyone better than Mel. She is my best friend and my sister. I am going to miss her lots.

Here are some pictures from the day, I will probably post more later because I am a crazy person.

Love you Mel, you're gonna kick butt in Iowa!

xoxo
